Emails

 

When you enroll for our online banking services, we may send emails to market various products and services offered by American Bank. We will always provide you with an opportunity to opt-in or opt-out of marketing related emails. We will also send security related email notices when you sign-up for “alerts” within the online banking or mobile app. These emails may include when you change your Password, security question, phone number or email address.

 

If you agree to accept electronic disclosures and/or online account statements, we may also send you notices of important account updates through email. For example, we may send you an email with updates to this privacy policy and/or we may send you a notice that you have an important message within online banking. We will never send you an email asking for personal information such as your account number, ATM card number, PIN number, social security number, or login information.


Security

 

Your Online Banking account is secured by a unique user ID, password and two factor authentication. You should never share your online banking credentials and should notify us immediately if they have been compromised or your access device (e.g., mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or computer) has been lost or stolen. Your online banking session will sign off automatically from inactivity to protect your data. For additional security, please remember to sign off after use and close your internet browser.

 

The use of public or shared computers is not recommended for online banking and if used, is used at your own risk. If you must use a public, shared, or non-personal access device, do not check the box “to remember me” for your online banking account, log out after every online banking session, close out the internet browser, and use the browser tools available to delete your cookies and history when you are finished using the access device.

 

Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

 
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

 

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects children under the age of 13 from the online collection of personal information. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
